Take A Little Time
by Zenobia

You know, as I go about my daily "stuff" I think of you all and wonder about your lives and your daily activities. I can give you my schedule right here and now. Up and at 'em at 5AM..stumble around in the apartment .."feel" my way to the 'puter and allow the light on the screen to force my eyes open!   I usually receive the loveliest messages from some of you and I smile, answer quickly and sign off ... then go and pull a "dead-to-the -world" 11 year old out of his bed and we bump into each other as we prepare for our day ahead!

By 7AM I am walking into my job with my big old super "PR" grin in place, soothing sobbing children as they are wrenched from the arms of their parents, or discussing a communication problem with an agitated staff member. I sense that my "blah" feeling is covered up by this grin and professional facade and I wonder also by three o'clock, why I am so eager to leave ... and I am dead tired!

What's wrong with my picture?  I allowed no time for God before I faced my day.  I sprang from my bed and went headlong into a day provided by Him, orchestrated by Him, blessed by Him and ordered by Him, and did not take the time to talk to Him ... to say "Good morning Holy Spirit"!!

Take a little time with God in the morning! Sing Him a song...I have found that turning the volume of the morning news down with its violent contents and sensational headlines and turning up the volume on a praise song can start my day off just right! Singing and dancing at the ironing board...praising His holy name is a better  jump start to your day and will last longer than any deodorant on the market! (heehee!)  Share a scripture with the kids...and/or your husband!

Take God  with you! Don't leave  Him in the tape deck in your car ... or in the CD player of your boom box. Let Him go to your workplace ... invite  Him on your jog...take  Him to the bus stop (that 11 year old reports a better day when we have prayed together). Pray for your children as they approach the bus stop!  God is so good! Allow Him to be glorified in your daily activities!
