Learning About Jesus
by Lois Rock and Maureen Galvani
- Who
is Jesus?
- When did he live?
- What did he do that was special?
In this book you can begin to learn about Jesus, starting
with the kinds of questions you really want to ask.
This very approachable introduction to what we believe
about Jesus and our faith is written with warmth, sincerity,
and understanding by a widely respected and trusted
author. It is an ideal book to use with children ages
4-8.
REVIEW FOR PARENT: The author lays out twelve questions and answers such as “When did Jesus live?” and “Who were His parents?” The illustrations really stand out in this book and help mold a picture in the young reader’s mind as well as provide discussion between the parent and child. For example, under the "Was Jesus’ teaching special?" page there is a wonderful illustration about forgiveness. A young boy is shown being mean to his classmate. Later the classmate chooses to share his lunch with the bully. This is just one of many wonderful visuals that demonstrate Jesus' ministry on a young reader's level..
Each answer concludes with an “I believe” statement. This book is definitely a delightful teaching tool for parents or teachers to introduce Jesus to inquisitive children. -- aKidzfaith
